The troponin test is primarily used to diagnose and monitor acute coronary syndrome (ACS), which is a group of conditions that affect the heart and can lead to a heart attack.
When the heart muscle is damaged during heart attack troponin is released into bloodstream. This troponin test is very sensitive and detect even small amounts of troponin in blood. 

HbA1c, also known as glycated hemoglobin or hemoglobin A1c, is a laboratory blood test used to measure the average level of blood sugar (glucose) over the past 2-3 months.
The HbA1c test provides an overall picture of a person’s blood glucose control, as opposed to the blood glucose tests that measure the glucose levels at a particular moment.
